Basketball is a team game. And teams that win or lose are because of the collective make up of that team not just one player. If that was the case, then Jordan would have way more than 6 championships. His amazing shooting nights alone didn’t bring titles.
Jeremy Lin accepted his role during games. And we won’t know what he brought to the team in practice, on the plane, or from the sidelines. All of those moments make the team better. Former teammates like Carmelo got what mattered to him- Cash.
But Jeremy Lin has been willing to keep showing up as a starter or role player. And now, he has a ring with Toronto:his a magical ride with the Knicks; and an Ivy League education that will continue to open doors to financial opportunities long after his NBA career ends.
