It was raining in Minneapolis, so we went to the MIA, Minneapolis Institute of Art. At first glance, we felt lucky because it was “free Thursday.” But in museum speak that translates to “how much would you like to donate?” If you give too little, you must put up with the shameful eye roll. Really? Either invite us in or charge us a fee!
Once inside the museum, you have to deal with the surly security guards working for minimum wage just so they can reprimand adults, teens, and kids for getting too close to the art. “Stop! Don’t touch the art!”
The whole experience seems odd in 2017. On the other hand, the Mill Museum invited all to experience it with all five senses. Go there!
