If you have kids and drive to place kids go such as schools, parks, PumpitUp or CHuckee Cheese, you are bound to see cars with magnets on them. It is not unusual to see a car with 3-5 magnets or more. The days of “Baby on Board” suction signs on the back window are over. For instance, we have a soccer ball, my sons school, Obama-Biden, and AYSO. I noticed my younger sons school recently started selling magnets. So thats sure to make the bumper soon. When did this magnet craze take off?
Don’t get me wrong, its definitely better than living with the long term ugliness of bumper stickers, but it seems to me like its starting to go overboard. Like so many products in America, it starts out looking good and making sense. And then everyone wants one for everything.
If you are reading this, I’d be curious how many car magnets you have. If you are single, or don’t have kids, do you have magnets too?
Let me begin by saying, we have two cats, Ed and Gogurt. Ed is a 16 lb fur ball of love. He is more of a thinker than a doer. He is more prone to stretch out and nap on the treadmill than use it. Gogurt is a spunky, curious kitten with “catitude”. He perches himself on the stairway banister, jumps in the tub just as the shower is about to come, and snoozes in the napkin basket. They are an important part of our family.
We take them into the vet for their scheduled visits. I find the whole experience of watching people and their pets interact in the waiting room quite amusing. But what I find even more amazing is hearing the vets tell us all the things we “must” do for the cats. The most recent being, “brush their teeth.”
I have a hard enough time getting my sons to brush and now I ‘ve got to deal with Ed and Gogurt? The vet gave us a Cat Toothbrush or Brosse a’ Dents Pour Chats. And some poultry flavored toothpaste. The Virbac corporation who makes this product suggests the following about the toothpaste; “good to chew, better to rinse, best to brush!” Why would I do this? Because they suggest it is for ” fresh breath, cleaner teeth and better health for your pet.” I won’t even tell you about flossing.
I love Ed and Gogurt, but I can’t honestly say their breath is a big concern. I’m frankly more concerned about cats who smell like chicken.
