We let Ry stay up later than usual to watch the Olympics. In an effort to avoid the commercials, my wife switched channels during commercials. While she successfully avoided the advertisements, she introduced my son to “the three stooges.” The program was entitled, “stoogapalooza.” I watched with great enjoyment as I saw his eyes widen as he witnessed “Curly” making his “knyuk, knyuk ” sound or his arm fly across his face, or his legs do the “Curly shuffle.” It was one of those moments, where I felt like God was looking out for me when he gave me boys.” We laughed as the Stooges poked, prodded, and pulled hair.
After Ry went to bed, my wife continued to ask me what makes these guys so funny. How do you “explain” the three Stooges. The next day, the boys went swimming with their Uncle and Ry immediately wanted to tell him about Larry, Moe and Curly. My brother laughed and told them, “I’ve never met a woman who enjoys them. It appears to be a guy thing. I think he’s right.
